The Booking Process with Student Housing Lancaster

by | Feb 3, 2017 | Booking

We’ve all heard the horror stories from older students of nightmare landlords and almost impossible booking processes that make it hard to get the property that you want.

That’s where we differ here at Student Housing Lancaster; we’ve made our booking process as simple as possible, to allow people like you to view and book the property that you want in three simple steps.

Step One: Choose Your Housemates

Before you come to us or set your heart on a house, it’s important that you decide on who you want to live with.

This is important as you will know how many rooms you will need to accommodate everyone, and you’ll also need to arrange viewings with them to make sure that you’re finding a house that suits all your needs.

Step Two: Choose Your House and Area

Despite being quite small compared to other university cities, Lancaster has quite a few areas to choose from when it comes to deciding where you want to live.

Ideally, you will want to take a look around and decide on the area that most appeals to you; would you prefer to be nearer to campus? Or is accessibility to town more important to you? Maybe you want to live in a quieter area – or maybe nestled in with other students!

When you’ve decided on an area, you should take a look at the properties page on our website and find a house that you’d like to view!

Step Three: Come to Us!

Once you’ve decided on who you will be living with and where you would like to live, you should pop in or give us a call and tell us what you need. We’ve got a huge selection of houses just waiting to be let, and we’ll be able to help you choose the right one for your needs.

Viewings are based on a first come, first serve basis, so if there’s a house that you really want to view, it’s best to contact us as soon as possible to make sure that you’ve got the chance to take a look at it.

It’s the same with bookings; we’ll rent a property to those who book with us right away, so it’s important that you fill in your contract and get your deposit back to us as soon as possible.

Houses can also be reserved – all we require is that everyone involved in the booking has signed the contract and this is back in our hands, along with a deposit, which needs to be paid 14 days after you’ve submitted the signed contract.

We will ask for the details of a guarantor, too, but this is standard across all student lettings; in short, we just need someone to contact should you not be able to pay your rent for some reason so that they can cover your expenses.

However, if you don’t have anyone who can act as guarantor – or simply don’t want to list one – we will ask that you pay your rent in two instalments rather than monthly or termly. All you need to do is provide us with written proof that you agree to pay your rent in this manner, and proof that you can cover the costs, such as your student finance documents.

… and that’s it! It really is as simple as one, two, three! We pride ourselves on our very simple, straightforward booking process, and we look forward to hearing from you very soon! Remember, viewings and lettings are based on a first come, first serve basis, so make sure you’re planning well in advance for your student house for the next academic year!

Please don’t hesitate to contact us today if you have any other queries about our process!
